So this is what happened this week.

My daughter and I were at the Mall on an escalator. You know that weird silence when you and a stranger meet eyes? Well usually I just smile and say hello, or just nod my head. Today I had one of those weird eye locks with a man on the opposite escalator as my daughter and I were leaning on the outer railing, so we could see the other side. I smiled and said hello and this guy immediately stuck his tongue out at me…seriously. My daughter said “WHAT?!” I looked down as the guy was going down as I was going up and he didn’t have any expression at all, just was standing there.

I just told my daughter…”Boy it’s been a weird two weeks and I have nothing to say about that…that guy is strange.” She agreed and we went up to do our shopping. Wow…two weeks in a row and I have encountered three very immature strange men. This escalator guy was it least 30 something, maybe even 40′s. What kind of men is Ohio raising…geez!!!

Have you seen all the commercials for the many cell phone companies and their offers for the $10 to add a line to your family plan? Sounds awesome doesn’t it? Well, I thought so too, until I added that $10 line and boy did it cost me!!!!Oh yes, it was only $01 to add a line but that is only the beginning. It is not an extra $10 a month to have the line, it’s the $10 plus the plan money as well.

I called 3-different cell phone companies as I did not believe the first one I called as I was “roped” in by the $10 ad-on commercial. Here is what happened to my bill once I added a second phone and put it on a shared family plan.

• My unlimited fee was $79.99 for my one phone and $8.99 a month for the insurance, $10 a month because it is a data phone. I always break my phone so I always use my insurance.
• I did get charged another $10 for the second phone addition, but the phone was “free” so that was cool.
• I did get a $10 break on my original phone bill so my unlimited went to $69.99, that was cool too so the $10 was a wash.
• I did get the second phone and a bigger bill to boot. What I got that I was not expecting…An additional $69.99 for the second phone, even though it is SHARING my first phones minutes. Another $8,99 for insurance (that is OK) and an additional $10 monthly fee because it is a data phone as well.

So now my bill is about double what I was paying before…so much for the $10 hoopla!

So beware…that $10 they advertise is just to get you through the door. That $10 multiplies like bunnies once you sign your contact with that other line. I got roped in and it sucks. I cannot afford my phone bill every month but needed a business line because we don’t have a land line anymore.

When my contract is up my second line will be on it’s OWN contract or prepaid. I will have a cheap no data phone, as the number does not get used hardly at all. I don’t need a smart phone. So in the long run it is cheaper to have to plans, that are separate for my business phone!

Today’s WTFriday involved a truck, 2-men, and my daughter…well me and my son too but it was directed towards my 7-year old daughter. It was just plane weird.

So we decided to take a walk and my kids are very friendly. Sometimes over friendly as it can make me nervous. They say hello to everyone, which is fine, but sometimes it can “bite them in the butt.” We were on the side walk and there was a big black truck with 2-men in it. One driving and one as the passenger. We were on the side of the passenger. The truck had to stop at the corner and we were on the opposite sidewalk. My daughter smiled, waved and said hello. Nothing happened and we walked on. The truck proceeded to go down the road and turn around and pass us again with the driver side to us and the guy leans out the window and screams at my daughter. I mean a huge scream. It was geared towards her because she was maybe 5 paces ahead of me and he waited to pass me to lean out and scream at her. It was a big “AAAAAAHHHHHHH!” Then you could see him pull his head in and laugh. This guy looked to be in his 30′s it least and he get’s his kicks out of scaring kids…kids that just waved and said hello. It was ridiculous.

My daughter turned around and looked at me and tears came down her face. It scared the crap out of her.

What kind of jerk would do this to a small child. He actually turned around and screamed at her…what a loser!

WTFriday…there are some real losers out there! Wish I would have got his license plate…it just happened so fast I did not catch it. Not that I could have done anything, but hate it that I have not idea who this guy is. Thank goodness my kids are not allowed to walk by themselves. Who knows what other kind of freak this guy and his friend are…

The auto renew as well, if I choose them to do so for the same price I bought them for, so right now I pay about $13.99 per year for my domain and about $85 a year for my hosting service. I get unlimited domains with my hosting service and probably have 30-domains so it costs me about $5-$6 a year per domain to host.

What is the reason for this post…well, glad you asked…lol. It is about all the “Crap” “Spam” mailing I get and it makes me mad! So I got this letter in the mail last year.

It’s from the Domain Registry of America. Now I have no idea if this company is even legit as I have and never will use them, but I think the wording this this letter is absolutely ridiculous. I can see how people would use their service as it makes you think you “have” to uses their service to keep their domain and that is false! Sorry for the blurry picture…I was using my cell phone and it was the best I could get, close up.

It says  something along the lines that if I don’t renew my domain by the deadline then I may lose it and my rights to it…duh! it also suggests that pay them as low as $35 a year and as much as $120 for 5-years. They want me to switch to them and if you click on my image and read the writing it is worded in kind of a way that someone might believe that this is the only way to keep their domain current.

So if I believe them then I am spending at minimum $24 per domain, if I do it for 5-years so up front that is $120. If I do yearly I am paying $35, which is 2.5 times what I am paying now for my one domain.

Now with my hosting service, since 2009, I have had not hidden fees and I get all the same perks as buying my domain with this Domain Registry of America. Now I am all for free speech and letting companies advertise but the wording in this letter should not be allowed. It should not make me think that I am going to lose everything unless I go through them. it should simply state what they do and offer me a chance to move towards them. Also, are they kidding me with the price? Like I don’t know how much cheaper I get my domains…I bought them in the first place…why would i spend 2.5 times more!

Anyway, just wanted to share this. Be careful and read all your mailings carefully before you make any decision!

I have a boy and a girl and I have heard horror stories about potty training boys. I have been told for years that boys are harder and may not be potty trained til Kindergarten. With two kids the last thing I wanted to do was buy diapers for the second child for up to 5-years and I was grasping at straws to potty train him after his second birthday. I know that kids will train when they are ready but I also know and have witnessed some kids, who are ready, not be trained, because the parents were not wanting to put forth the effort. I actually had good luck with my strategy for both kids.

My daughter was fully trained, including at bed, by the time she was 2 and 3-months old. She was soooo easy! I just let her go to the bathroom with me and the diapers were thrown away and not available for her after the first handful of times she went to the potty. I actually tried to put night time pull ups on her for a bit longer but she wanted nothing to do with them. All-in-all she wet the bed 2-times since she was trained. I then threw the pull ups away…well actually gave them to my neighbor and since there was no option, she was done. Who cares if I had to wash sheets a couple times. I kept the water liner on her bed until she was three and she had no idea, so it did not ruin the mattress.

My son did take a it longer. I have to admit that I jumped the gun with him as soon as he turned 2-years old and it blew up in my face but I am happy to say that I had him trained by 2 1/2-years-old.

The first time I tried to train he was not having it. He was just about 1 month over 2-years old and it was not a good situation. But I did not give up. I didin’t want to traumatize him so I let him keep the pull ups and I left the potty out, wherever we were 24/7 so he could see it. I would bribe him with suckers and stickers just to sit on it, with pants on. He learned to use it as his seat to watch TV etc.

I also let him come into the bathroom with me and asked him to sit on the potty while I did. Even though he was a boy, my husband was weird about having him watch him pee so I figured I would just teach him to sit down. About 2 and 4-months he asked to sit on the potty without his pull up. Of course I let him. He did not pee for a couple weeks but after a couple weeks he did poop!

This was kind of backwards but he was actually more comfortable pooping in the potty then he was peeing. I always heard the opposite, but I was going to take what I could get.

I made such a HUGE deal of him going potty. I never gave candy once he started using the potty regularily, because I don’t like to reward with food, most of the time. I bought a huge book of stickers with firetrucks, cars etc. He got a sticker every time he used the potty.

After a couple weeks of going poop he decided he would pee too. He would pee half-and-half, which hay…progress!

By the time my son was 2 1/2-years old he was 100% trained. I even carried that potty in the back of the van and when he had to go we pulled over and he went in the back. I carried garbage bags with me and I dealt with the mess when I got home…it was worth it.

So even though he was a bit harder, I did not give up and we did it.

As soon as he was going potty all day long for a few days I threw the diapers away. I kept night time pull ups on him for about 2-months and then we got rid of those and used a water resistant bed liner. He peed more then my daughter but we just didn’t make it a big deal…he hated the wet, and learned fast he had to get up.

So that is my success stories for both my kids.

I got a huge with of cigarette smoke. OMG it was nasty and gave me a quick headache. We don’t smoke in our house so the smell, out of the box was really prevalent. Now I have used this company a ton of times and have never had issues until today. The biggest problem, other then getting a brand new shipment smelling like cigarette nasty crap, is that three of these items actually are for baking. Two food colorings, which thank goodness are sealed, but the rhinestone band, not sealed, just a flimsy plastic over it…no way in hell I am putting that on a cake. UGH! So my WTFriday experience today is…if you are shipping items then keep the cigarettes out of the merchandise, even in shipping. That smell has been trapped in the box for a few days.

I have e-mailed the company and complained so if I get an update before I post this I will share. UPDATE BELOW!

UPDATE: They did give me a credit for a good part of my order so that is good. The things that were sealed up I have taken out of the boxes, thrown them away and the product inside does not smell at all. I got enough credit to cover the one item I reordered and it covered shipping too so that is good. I would have complained more however this company has delivered to me, successfully for over 15 years so I won’t complain about the credit I received as this is the first time in 15-years I have had an issue. I am not looking for something for nothing so I feel like I was taken care of it least! Have a great Friday!!!!

For a few days I have had my air conditioning on in my home and my car. I have worn shorts and sandals to walk and pick up my child from school. We have been roller skating, bike riding, and just having a ton of outside fun. Now TODAY, the first day the kids have their swing set and it is currently 40 degrees outside, windy and cold. I just had to turn the heat on!!! WTFriday????!!!! This irritates me. I need my winter coat and my heater? I am soooooo tired of this stinking cold weather! Come on Spring!!!!!!!! My poor little man…he is determined to play on the swing set even though it is freezing. He can only make about 10 minutes at a time.

I have had to contact THREE different customer service agents in the last 3-4 days. One is for a credit card I have, the other is for an old cable company I had, and the third was for a mistake on a charge to my bank account for a service I cancelled back in March. Let me tell you…if I could have shoved my hand through the phone and slapped everyone of the representatives I would have…

Remember in the past when you wold call customer service, 9/10 it was pleasant? You usually would get a nice person on the phone that you could understand and they would help you. Well it has not been too long ago that two of the three companies I mentioned above, actually had great customer service. It has however, taken a turn for the worst.

You know, if I  moved to India and called my company in India then I would expect someone to answer form India and I would also expect to have a hard time understanding them. But, I am not from India, I do not live in India, and the bills I have are local so when I call customer service I would appreciate being able to understand what the hell they say.

The worst one was the charge that should not have happened. I cancelled the service and should not have been charged in April…I was charged in April. I called customer service and the woman could barely speak ANY English at all. She kept repeating herself over and over and I asked here specifically…”do you see where I cancelled my service over a month ago?” She would reply, “Mam you no have service with us.” Me…” I KNOW, but I got charged the monthly fee.” Her, “Mam you know have service with us.” You get  the idea. So I said “Manager please!” Her, “No manager, I can help you.” Wow she must use that sentence a lot because that one was right…

So after about 10 minutes of the conversation she finally said, “we charge you for service?” I said “Yes…” She said, “We give refund to you bank.” Yes she said “YOU BANK!” I said “OK and if I get charged any fees will your company reimburse me?” Apparently that word was a little to big for her. She said “No we transfer money back, you no have service with us.” I said “How about any bank fees I may have?” She said again, “No we transfer money back in in you bank, you no have service with us…” Of course I hang up.  Yes this was one of the customer service centers I have called int he past and I used to get good service…this was not a one time fluke of getting a non English speaking person either. I actually tried calling this company for 3-days to only hang up from pure frustration. Yesterday was the last call I made. In fact, I will never use this company again…ever!

So here is my thing. Ya I can go on and on about the damn debates and how we were promised jobs back in the US…ya that was crap. Like I said earlier, two of the companies just this year had English speaking customer service reps, so apparently it’s getting worse. I really truly believe that companies not only move oversees to pay less to employees and pay cheaper taxes, but I think that they are realizing that people will hang up if they get frustrated so it saves the company quite a lot of money in customer service fees etc. See…if I would have stayed on the phone, with someone that could understand me, I would have probably gotten a “yes we will cover any bank fees that occur because of our mistake.” Because the woman could not, or acted like she could not understand me, then they are not shelling out anymore money for fees.  Brilliant?! Let me pay for your damn service, then charge me when I cancel it and if I get fees then oh well, that’s my fault for using your stupid company in the first place.

I have become more and more eager to use US companies for services. I will even look for US sellers on eBay first. If we want our economy to grow then, in my opinion, we need to support our own damn country. I have even quit shopping at Walmart as much because everything is made in damn china. I am finding a lot of other US companies are lowering their prices as a result too so it has not been terribly hard to change my ways.

So…if I live in the US and you have a company that does any kind of customer service, then please have people that are willing to not only talk, but also listen, to the customer and have them speak the language of the country they are in!

Come on Big “O” you promised jobs back from overseas, now where the hell are they? It’s been over 4-years…and it is only getting worse!

Awww memories. Some are heart felt, some are sad, but some are just funny. The day I got my drivers license was 24-years ago…exactly from today. Yes I did get my license on April fools day, it was a perfect day for it too  because I also got pulled over for the first time on that day too. Yes you heard right…first day of driving and I got pulled over. It did scare the crap out of me, but it turned out to be rather humorous.

The day I got my license was a Friday. My parents pulled me out of school early so I could go and take my tests. After passing I went back to school and the plans were made for me to drive my best friend and I to the local Dance Club as it was High School night.  Now if you are aware of the style of cars 24-years ago you will know that station wagons were all the rage…yes we had a big maroon station wagon with wood on the side and YES that was the car I got my license in and the car that was taking us to the dance club. Oh ya…I was so cool…LOL.

Anyway we went to the club and left about midnight when it closed. It was, of course, dark outside, but there was pretty much no cars on the road. We headed over to the 7-11 and got a large “suicide soda.” For those that are suicide virgins that simply means an everything soda. Get a large cup and put a squirt of every soda they have on the fountain machine. I mean every one! After 3-4 hours of dancing, and being 16-years old, it tastes awesome! Now don’t get me wrong…I tried one a few years ago and OMG I could not even take more then one sip…it was nasty. But 16…hay!

So we loaded ourselves and the soda back in the car and put on the local rock station. Wouldn’t you know it…ACDC came on and of course that was mine and my friends favorite band. So I decided that I would swerve back and forth on the road to the music. Now I stayed in my lane, the swerving as very minimal, but I did swerve nonetheless That lasted abut 3-minutes and then I saw those bright flashing lights right behind me…OMG I was so dead if I got a ticket on my first day of driving!!

So the cop pulled us over and I got the drunk driving test and he checked the suicide drink for alcohol, which of course he did no find.

I had also just got contacts and they were hard contacts. My eyes did not like them at all and they were beat red. So not only was I swerving, had a drink in the car, and red eyes, I might also get my first ticket.

I guess the cop was feeling nice that night because he let me go with a warning and made my friend drive home who had had her license longer then me…ha ha that was classic. You know I never lived that one down!

So I was lucky enough to dodge that bullet. Could you imagine what would have happened had I got a ticket? I probably would have not been allowed the car for a long time and I am sure I would have had to work off what it would have cost as well. Anyway, needless to say it was a few years before I got pulled over again!

Happy April Fools Day…today always makes me smile…it is a fun memory actually!

I was sitting at a stop light today and a biker guy stopped next to me. He looked the part too, leather, grey beard, big bike, but was having a little trouble as he came to a stop.

He was have a rather difficult time keeping his cigarette in his mouth as he pulled up to the light. It was nearly have smoked and dangling from his mouth. For the 1-2 minutes we sat at the light he did not take his hand off the bike once but rather sat there fiddling with the cigarette with his lips and teeth giving it his best shot to keep it in his mouth. It was rather nasty to watch actually. I am thinking he is quite addicted. Seeming he can’t seem to make it on a bike journey without getting his fix. Dude…seriously, are the ashes hitting you ion the face while you are cruising down the road?

I had to look about 3-times to watch this guy and see if he would ever adjust the smoke with his hands but he never did. The light turned green and off he went, lit up and on his way…WTFriday?!!!! Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess!

My opinion…don’t smoke and ride…seems a little dangerous if you ask me.
