Gym memberships…too expensive?

So I have lost most all my weight at home. I lost about 70 pounds at home. Pretty darn good if you ask me. I am not a huge lover of working out in front of others but over the last few months I have actually wanted a change from the TV and workout DVDs. I also have been very successful working out with the kids at home, bothering me a lot too. I just pause the workout and then get back to it when I can. But I have needed a change.

I shopped around at some gyms in my area as I wanted to see what they have to offer now. I have not had a gym membership since the 90′s and figured someone out there had to have a contract free membership our there. I got a bunch of quotes and did end up joining the local FitWorks near my house. At first I was worried about the $29.95 a month I would be paying but they give me free daycare for both kids, tanning (which I will probably never use) unlimited workout classes and 24-hour gym access. And no, FitWorks did not pay me to write this, in fact they have no idea I am writing this.

The $$ was bothering me for a couple days. Then I realized that my worry was really kind of, well, dumb. This is what happened.

Tired of overseas customer service

So Obama promised to bring jobs back to America. so why in the last 4-years has more of the companies I deal with, using calling centers out of the US. There were a handful of companies that still had US based customer service agents and I loved calling them because I could understand them. I have TWO left. I am not talking about my monthly utilities but rather credit cards and other accounts like that, that are now out sourced outside the US.

So where is the promise of bringing jobs back to the US? Two weeks ago Continue reading

WTFriday Sept 28 2012

This is more of a random thought then a WTFriday thought but it still goes along with the idea.

So my kids loved the Berenstein Bears for a while. I do too, I think the cartoon is a good one. I like the morals and what it teaches the kids. There has always been something that bothered me though.

In on of the episodes they show when “Sister” was not born yet and it was just the Mom, Dad and Brother. Where does WTFriday come in… Continue reading

Not as much steps and I would have thought

I have had this post in my drafts for months and forgot about it. Still worth writing so here it is.

Back in April we went on a trip to Disney World. My husband and I got into the conversation about our exercise regimen and we thought that we would be fin,e because it’s Disney, we would be on our feet all the tine. So we thought that we could just use that as our exercise. Not really what the outcome was, in fact it was a lot less then anticipated. Continue reading

Bling phone covers…worth it or just pretty?

I thought I would share my review on a phone cover I bought this last week. It is a good thing it cost me less then $10 because even though it is pretty, I don’t like it one bit:)

I bought this phone cover on e-bay and like I said it was under $10 even with shipping. It is a nice pretty diamond looking “bling” phone cover. So why do I dislike this cover? Continue reading

I think I can…

I feel so redneck today! Look at my sad, sad, mower. I have had the redneck mower for a year now…seriously. Last year the right side of the handle broke and today, the left did. I don’t want to spend minimum $250 on a new mower when it’s nearly October, but I may have too…grrr! So the break happened after 3 stripes of the yard done….did it make it for the next 60 minutes of mowing? Continue reading

I am so excited!

I have been decorating cakes over the last year (teaching myself) and I am so excited about what is coming in the next few days that I could not wait to post about it!

I kind of “bumped” into this website called Sweet Wise and I found a video of this tool called the “mat.” It is a mat that you can roll out your fondant and place it on the cake and the fondant does not have to touch the counter AND you don’t have to lift it with a roller or your hands…seriously. If this does not make any sense to you at all, here is a link to the video about the mat!

I never thought I would like to decorate cakes as I don’t like crafts or things like that very much. I have found in the last year that the cake decorating thing, Continue reading

Weight loss time line

I gained 15 pounds from 2003-2005 because my husband and I commuted to date… I was already 10 pounds over weight so this made me 25 pounds over weight.

Then I got pregnant in 2005 and gained another 25 pounds and only lost 11 pounds after birth and before my next pregnancy in 2008. I gained about 14 pounds in the second pregnancy and lost my baby at 23 weeks 3 days. Worst day ever! Through depression I did not lose any other weight after the baby was born. I lost only a handful of pounds after that delivery and I don’t recall exactly, but I don’t think it was more then 4-5 pounds. So in 2008 I was about 34-35 pounds overweight.

In 2009 I got pregnant again and gained a ton of weight. I went from 204 pounds to 268 pounds…I was huge!

I had to have a c-section and it got infected so I went from 8/27/2009-11/29/2009 with no exercise at all because I had to get my stomach incision packed every day. I was on bed rest for a long time. I did not weigh myself so my weight loss is calculated at the 268 pounds I was at when I weighed myself on the day I gave birth.

I am now Continue reading
