Savings accounts are great accounts to have in additon to your checking account as it is nice to have a place that does not make it easy to withdrawl money when you want to impulse shop.
I have had my savings account for years, but it has only been recently that we have been able to keep any sort of funds in there.
I have had a couple issues with it lately and have leanred, the hard way, that the money can be taken very easily from the bank or govronment. Yes you heard right? I have had withdrawls from my account recently from both and I am not happy about it.My bank was nice enough to now have the option of linking my savings to my checking account. This means if I overdraft the checking then it will auto pull frommy savings to cover it. Nice right? Well, there is a fee, in the small print. It cost me $5 for every transfer to my checking account. I needed it a while back for a small, less then $5 purchase the day before payday. That $5 purchase cost me $10…really?
Second: and the worst!
I decided that I would transfer money as I needed into my checking. This way I could avoid the $5 charge. Seemed easy enough…NOT! It is now a govronment law…if you transfer our of your savings acount MORE then 6 times in one month, you get charged per transaction. It is not a bank charge, it’s a govronment charge. It happened to me twice last month. I called the bank because I was fuming mad to see 2 not so small charges out of my savings, that put me almost negative. When i asked why they said that it is no a govronment rule. It is not the bank that get’s the money, it is the govronmnet…really?
So now I am penalized for transfeering my own money from one bank account to another.
So now if I don’t transfer it and I need ti for overdrafte coverage and I need it say 7 times ina month. I get charged $5 for each transfer plus the 7th times will have another charge on top fo the $5.
Gotta love the govronment. And peole actually want the govronment to control everything? Not me! Aren’t we suppose to be a free country? I pay taxes and now they still want to come and knock on my door and ask for more money.

I don’t like where our country is headed. I try really hard to stay out of politics so I won’t say any more. I do think maybe the old timers had a good idea hiding money in their mattress and sleeping with a loaded gun. Hahahaha…. maybe that is what we need to start doing
