Do people really fall for e-mail scammers?

I hope you will share!

I don’t typically respond to e-mail scammers but I did reply to one twice today. I thought you might enjoy a copied and pasted e-mail conversation. I have a hard time believing that people really believe these kinds of e-mails but I have heard of it happening.

I most likely won’t reasond to any again but this girl caught me on a day that I just wanted to call her out. Not that it will make a difference, she is a crook, but it made me feel better.

The font is a little messed up because I copied it but you can still read it.

Here it is:

To me

I really hope you get this fast. I could not inform anyone about My trip, because it was impromptu. I had to be in Manila, Philippines for a program. The program was successful, but my journey has turned sour. I misplaced My wallet and cell phone on my way back to the hotel i  lodge in after i went for sight seeing. The wallet contained all the valuables i had. Now, my passport is in custody of the hotel management pending when i make payment.

I am sorry if i am inconveniencing you, but i have only very few people to run to now. i will be indeed very grateful if i can get a loan of $2,350 Euro from you. this will enable me sort my hotel bills and get my self back home. I will really appreciate whatever you can afford in assisting me with. I promise to refund it in full as soon as I return.

let me know if you can be of any assistance. Please, let me know soonest.

Yours truly;

    • OMG are you freaking kidding me…I can’t believe someone would send that and someone else would actually do it. I am sure the website moves daily as they don’t want to be caught. Geez!

  1. I get those all the time…DELETE!! The worst is when I get them for my blog where they say hey will write a post for you for FREEE all you have to do is include this link in the post! WHATEVER!!!

    • Ya please let me put a spam link on your blog is what it should say. Ridiculous isn’t it?!!!

    • I hope I don’t make it worse respnding from an email,I was/am so tired of spam! Twitter is turning into a joke too with all the hackers sending direct messages. I have considered ditching twitter for that reason.
