Making my Christmas decorating into a work out!

I hope you will share!

I love the tree, lights and decorations and every year, on the day after thanksgiving, my tree goes up, no excuses.  Well…it would so happen that I have raised a 4 year old daughter who loves all those things too and she has been begging since Halloween to decorate for Christmas.  I fought her on it for a few days and then thought to myself…hmm, who is to say we can’t put up our tree now?  Is it really that big of deal?  So two days ago on November 9, 2010 our tree went up.

How did I make this into my work out for the two days it took to do all the decorating?  Well, instead of bringing up 2-3 things at once (up the stairs) I brought up only ONE thing at a time.  This tripled the amount of times I would have ran up and down the stairs and by the time the two days weer over I can feel the burn from the stairs.

Putting a tree together, with all the lights, cleaning up the nicknack’s and putting them away to add more really does take a lot of energy.  I am still sore today but the decorations look beautiful, my 4 year old is so excited, and I got my work out in for 2 days.  Sweet!

Learning to make something extra out of everything!

We forgot the red beads for this picture so there are now 4 strands of red beads on the tree now.

I LUV Sharing!

If more of us would think like you, making housework, etc. work for you as a form of exercise we would all be better off.

That is seriously a great idea. You get to burn off your Thanksgiving dinner and then eat again and its like you are only holding calories from 1 meal (well depending on how much you stuff yourselves, but still) and you get to eat twice, smart girl, very smart!

My husband and I have a tradition of decorating after Thanksgiving dinner 🙂 We eat, relax a little, start to decorate, and then eat again when we're finished!
