I have been kicking around the idea of whether or not I want to go back to school. I am on the fence about it, but figured I might as well feel out my FASFA (student loan paperwork) just in case I decided to go.
I learned something today and I wanted to share before anyone else gets, or almost gets roped into PAYING to send in their FASFA!
I went to FASFA.com and filled it all out and BAM…they wanted around $75 to file it. Now, I am not one to say “OK” and move on. I got online and search and realized that I should have used https://fafsa.ed.gov
I went to the .gov website and filled it out and of course it was FREE to submit. If anyone really thinks they need to pay a company to send in the FASFA for you, believe me you probably don’t. The government’s website is very user friendly and if you have a copy of your tax return and SS#’s then you are good.
Don’t get sucked into paying for student loan paperwork!
