It is nice to have Internet access to see the seating plan and what is available, I love that, however there is something that I don’t like. I did not like it so much that I called and bought my tickets over the phone.
If you read my last post about Facebook then this is along the same lines.
If you notice in the image I attached, which I screen printed right from Ticketmaster, there are little facebook flags on certain seats. This is because someone has shared their seats on their facebook page and now they are flagged when I open up the seating chart. This would be OK if only your facebook friends saw these seats but I know NONE of these people. I was able to scroll over the flag and it showed their facebook picture with their name. When you click on them it zooms right into the exact seats they are at.
At first I thought maybe it was MY facebook friends as the web site says “look where your friends are sitting.” Well, none of them are actually on my friends list. I scrolled over all of them to check.
Now this may not seem like a big deal to anyone else but I think it is ridiculous that we are so accessible to everyone on the Internet. So what if I don’t want anyone to know my exact seats or I have an ex-ax murderer husband, etc… You get the picture I am painting here?
So if you don’t want all your information available on the Internet then my suggestion for this instance is to not sign in or share your Facebook account with everything. Don’t sign in your facebook or allow other sites to use your Facebook log-in to join their site. Now all I would have to do is search there Facebook people near my house. Not that I would ever do that, but some psycho stalker could.
Good Lord…where has all the privacy gone. it’s definitely not on the Internet.

Wow what a scary thought! I know there is probably an opt out option that you can utilize to not connect with Facebook, but to know that someone can have access to who you are or your information AND exactly where you are sitting is just crazy. Maybe it is from being a mom and paranoid of strangers around your children that you develop that sense of caution. That just seems like a stalker's favorite dream.
You are right... there is NO Privacy. There isn't much we can do about it either. You can type in your own name and find out more than you thought you would ever see out there for others to see.
