So again I have been annoyed with cell phones and again sharing it in my WTFriday post! Here was the latest for me in my little world.
I was at my friends wedding a few weeks ago. Yes I said WEDDING!
OK before I go on let’s reiterate the two times that I believe is the most important times to shut off the cell phones BEFORE you walk in.
- Funerals
- Weddings
Of course there are many more appropriate times but shouldn’t these be the top two?!
I was in the back center row of my friends wedding. She was so happy and beautiful and I was eager to see her make this wonderful leap into her new life. But, I missed more then half of what was said. Why you ask? Well peoples cell phones! I counted NINE cell phone interruptions during her ceremony. Here is what I heard and saw.
- Two women in front of me were taking pictures of the ceremony. That’s all awesome and good but I could hear the stupid “click” sound on the camera EVERY time they snapped a picture so I know they could hear it too. If it were me I would have turned the sound down after the first time but NO these two didn’t, they kept snapping. I sure wish I was as important as them to make the brides day all about me with my damn camera sounds. 2/9
- Two rows in front of me a lady’s phone rang (during the vows mind you). Most people would rush to turn it off and feel embarrassed. This woman, no lie, picked it up and looked at the caller ID and left it to ring a couple more times. She did finally turned it off, I guess when she was satisfied she could let it go to voice mail. 3/9
- To the left of me and not to far forward another woman was texting someone. The screen was bright white (hay it least turn the brightness down) but even more,TURN OFF YOU PHONE SOUND SO WE DON’T HAVE TO HEAR EACH TIME YOU SEND AND RECEIVE A TEXT! 4/9
- The rest 5-9 times I could not see but I could hear rings. It was so crazy. I missed my friends beautiful wedding because of inconsiderate self- absorbed and rude people. 9/9.
Happy WTFriday all!
If you have a WTFriday to share I would love to hear it and share it!

It is nice to know that there are other people in this world that feel the same way as me with regards to cell phone etiquette. I am a waitress and as I try to take peoples order they refuse to stop talking or texting in their phone and when I walk away without taking their order they call me rude.
That would make me so mad. I don't think I could do your job because I would tell them all of and never make any tips...lol!
I just recently got a cell phone after going about a year cellphone free... I must say, I have a new appreciation for life as it was before technology again. I too get annoyed when I see people attached to their cell phone like it is a part of their body. It wasn't necessary 10 years ago and it sure isn't a necessity now!
