Are you looking for a tablet Christmas? Especially one for a child? Well if you are, like I was/am, then I want to share my review on the Visual Land Prestige 7L tablet. I bought a pink and a blue one. In fact, this has made me so mad I posted a review on Amazon as well…so here is my review I left on Amazon!
I bought 2 of these tablets, a blue one and a pink one on October 15, 2012. They were to be Holiday gifts for my kids but we decided to give them early, due to a long drive we wanted to take on November 8,2012. By November 19, 2012 the blue one will not boot all the way up. It freezes with the “Android” name on the screen. The pink one freezes and has to be force restarted multiple times a day.
I have left a voice message with Visual Lands Technical support, and 1 message with the operator as the technical support mail box was now full…hmmm really?
I have sent an e-mail 7 days ago with no return message and sent another today, 7 days later.
I was told by Wal-Mart that after their 15 days return policy on electronics it was then up to the manufacturer to honor their warranty. I also bought an extra 2-year warranty through Wal-Mart and of course that does not start until AFTER the manufacturer’s warranty.
So…my suggestion is to buy a different tablet from a different company because what kind of customer service does not call back? Also, what kind of company constantly sends you to voice mail?
Very disappointing! Now I have one child with a tablet and one without. Those with kids will know that this is not going to work! I bought 2 tablets because I needed 2. It should not break in less than a month.
If there is a company out there that actually sells a 7 inch tablet that works well and has customer service to back-it-up then please message me…I would love to review it for you! And a raving review if it actually works!
I personally would love an ipad.
That stinks… that is also why when we spend our money on stuff we don’t buy cheaper brands (unless it has hundreds of reviews from people that have used the item for at least 2 months and at least 4 stars) and we read all the reviews we can find about the item before buying.
Great idea. Deciding to buy a tablet on this Christmas.
what a horrible story, not the story you wrote but what happened, so sorry for you

I have been wanting one, but I keep hearing horror stories about the voicemail! Customer service is very important, it’s a shame I have only been hearing negative.
thanks for the heads up. sorry you went thru this
you did well to report.
So glad you shared this….guess i need to look some more into tablets before I purchase!
Bummer that tablet didn’t work out 🙁 I hope you find one that works.
I’m glad I read your review/complaint on this Tablet. We had given our grandson a Leap Pad two years ago–he really likes it but he likes my daughter’s Nook better. We were considering buying him a Visual Lands–not now, we’ll probably just add to his Leap Pad library.
Ya…now visual land has the tablet and I have beent rying to get a status and BAM…no replies.
LAAAAAAAME that you had this experience. I have a Nook color and love it. I had some problems with it last month (have had it since Christmas last year) and Barnes & Noble took it back no questions asked and replaced it with a refurbished “new” one. The new one is perfect and comes with a full warranty. They have cheaper versions of the Nook Color you should check them out!
Thanks for the info! I would love to get my hubby a tablet, but I have no idea what is the best brand, price, etc… Wish there weren’t quite so many out there.
