I record Judge Judy, because she rocks and I always get the last 3-4 minutes of abc news. I actually like watching the end of it because it frequently has some cool health topics.
Here is what I learned today and wanted to share.
Women ages40-59 are the biggest users of sleep aids.
Nearly 3/10 women use sleep aids a few nights per week.
In 2010 15 million of women ages 40-59 were prescribed ambien, twice the number of men. Why may be because a lot of women have a dual role or pregnant, or have young kids, or are going through menopause.
Dual role meaning working full time and coming home and working full time at home too.
What some doctors said about long term use of sleeping aids is that it can actually take years off your life.
Some tips abc shares:
Get daily exercise
Keep the cell phones and table away from the bedroom.
* Another study I was told about at a blogging conference is that more then half of women check facebook before they get out of bed in the AM
Make a to-do list for the next day.
The above can help you wind down without a pill.
I thought this was interesting and wanted to pass the info along.
Have a great day!
I had sleep problems until I got rid of a lot of parasites and candida. Now I sleep rather well…. most nights anyway
I know, I keep telling myself I need to do a parasite cleanse like Terry, but honestly is scares the crap out of me to see a worm.
