Finally…I am not the nagging witch! He finally saw it!

Today was a good day. Well it was a not so good morning but it ended up being good.

See…I have been having arguments with my husband over the past 2 years about our daughter’s bedtime. He thinks since she does not have to get up early that she should be able to  stay up.  My argument is that kids need to go to bed at a decent time because they need more sleep. He does not see the tired fits in the morning, even if she sleeps in til 9am, so he just never got it.

Today he got it…YES he got it! Continue reading

My Husband’s BAD HABIT…ARGH!!!

Have you seen the movie called Date Night? If not, I would recommend it. It holds a dear place in my heart, as the husbands bad habit in the movie, matches one of my hubby’s habits.

Leaving his doors open, the kitchen cupboards open! You name it, he does not shut it!

In the movie the wife walks into the open cupboards and drawers all the time. It so happened I watched this movie with my hubby and every time I would say, “see it hurts!”

This picture of his dresser was taken AFTER the movie, so obviously he did not get it.

I even tested him! Go to page 2 at the bottom of the post to read how I did this.

Heathier Tacos for a Taco Fanatic…ME!

I love tacos and have tried over the past couple years of my healthy journey to figure out how I can eat them, frequently and not feel guilty. Tacos can be very unhealthy and I LOVE Mexican food so I was NOT going to stop eating them. I have found that making my taco meet a few ways to do this.

I have started growing my own herbs and a lot of them. In fact I grow 10 and next year will add a few more to the mix. I have found that making taco meet and flavoring with herbs is “key” when needing to cut down the sodium. I add whatever comes to mind and I have a taste for at the time. Then I add some cayenne pepper and Chile powder. This allows me to get away from using the prepackaged seasoning, which is mostly salt.

Instead of using grown beef I use ground turkey. I do not like the turkey that has mostly white meat though. On the fat ratio I think it is 97/5 and I buy the 85/15 one. So it is not quite as good, fat and calorie wise then the 97 but still a whole lot better than beef. If I use the 85/15 meat then it does not taste like turkey. Continue reading

To my Fellow Canadians…a Shopping Tip!

I was born and bred (till age 13) in Canada and still visit yearly. I had to share this awesome new comparison shopping website with my fellow Canadian family and friends.

I just ran across this web site Canada Post and I just spent the last thirty minutes reading about them and looking at different products to compare and found it rather informative. In fact they will help you compare the best prices for lot’s of merchandise. Check out the comparison for motorcycle parts. It gives you a bunch of buying options. This is one product of many you can search to compare.

Another thing that I know bothers a lot of people I know, up in the beautiful land of Canada (Hi Grandma!) is that most shopping websites are geared to US dollars and they have to go through the trouble of all the conversion formulas in order to find out what they are “really” going to pay. This Canada Post is already in Canadian dollars so finally a website that gears itself to the Canadian population and you won’t have to convert from US to Canadian currency.

Now not every store is Canadian owned, if fact you can also browse many US stores too, but you get to see what you will pay in Canadian dollars so that is another huge perk.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my Canadian heritage with you and pass the word along. I may not live in Canada anymore but still have a ton of Canadian Pride!

Have a great day!

Get out of UR HEAD and into UR HEART!

UGH I was so tired today. I had every excuse I could find to try and talk myself out of working out and i finally told myself to “quit whining and be positive and get your butt in gear!” So I put in the Turbo Fire!

Today’s workout consisted of TWO 30 minute workouts. The 30 minute Fire and then a 30 minutes sculpt. Before I even started the Fire class I had already talked myself out of the second workout…sculpt. Continue reading

Saves $1.83 $2-3.00
$1.83 x 20 (4 work weeks) $36.60
$2.00 x20 (fast food) $40.00
$3.00 x 20 ( fast food) $60.00
My savings monthly for lunch at home $25.00-rough
Total grocery savings for both $61.60
Total savings if fast food @$6 per day $76.60
Total savings if fast food @ $7 per day $86.60
So is Shakeology expensive?
Not so much anymore, when you break it down!

If you have a hard time reading his I apologize, I did it in excel as it was a lot easier to add together this way.

I have been getting this excuse/fear from a lot of people lately and I had figured out a couple months ago that my savings was about $56.72 and just went over to my local grocery and got new prices as groceries have gone up. Now we are saving over $60 a month and we have TWO Shakeology home directs. One for me and one for my hubby. Seriously! Groceries are getting ridiculous. Now this $4 is for the regular person that orders Shakeology at $119 a bag for 30 servings. Now I am a Beachbody preferred customer, which is very easy to become, so on home direct my shakes are only about $3 each so my monthly savings just went up as I am now on home direct as a preferred customer so with me and my hubby I get another $20 savings per month making our total savings:

$81.60 from packing hubby’s lunch

$96.60 from $6 fast food lunches

$106.60 from $7 fast food lunches

So now we are eating healthier, quitting the daily soda, and saving money. So it’s all a win win situation for us!

Note:

The meat and bread breakdown are for two sandwiches for the hubby. He was never satisfied with one. He eats a whole foot long when we go to subway. Even if he only ate one sandwich it is still a .35 cent savings per day. Added up to a week is $1.75 and for 4 weeks is a $7.00 savings. The benefit is far great then money, but we are saving! This is for the $4 shake so it is $27.00 savings if you are a preferred customer. Feel free to e-mail me and ask me how to become one at coachttawna@gmail.com

If you ever want to try a Shake, on me, I give samples away You just have to go to my website FitAfterBabies.com and visit the FREE shakeology tab and it will tell you how to send me your info! I waited a long time because I thought I could not afford it and now am kicking myself that I waited so long!

Have a great day!

If this is still not for you, that is OK, it’s not for everyone. Share it and let others decide if it’s right for them!

Gotta love Kindergarten and LICE!

I knew it was coming at some point but I don’t think you are ever ready for it! Yes, that’s right, for HEAD LICE!

It was like every other morning. I got up with the boy and my daughter woke up about 45 minutes later. I was checking my e-mail and she came up to give me a hug and started itching her head. I asked “your head itch” she said Yes.”

I then decided to look in her hair and immediately I saw TWO brown bugs crawling around! Holy snot! This was not going to be a great day!

This is how it played out…
