My Mother’s Day Pressent/Project!

So Mother’s Day is always the one of two days that I can get my husband to do pretty much anything I want. I have to think hard about those two days (the other is my birthday) so I can get what I want done on those days.

This Mother’s day it was the garden. I am tired of spending tons of money on crappy produce at the store so I have decided to get in gear and grow my own again this year. We have a rental and we got permission to dig so Mother’s day was dig day! Here is my actual gift!

Just FYI I use this soil every year I plant and it works great and each bag is only $1.49! I get it from ACE. I needed the soil because as we dug out the grass it was so muddy from all the days/weeks of rain I needed better soil to plant with. At the price though you can’t beat it!
Here is where my herbs are and I can’t wait for these herbs to sprout!
This is the first part of the garden finished. I really took in one day with my hubby and 2 days by myself to get it finished. I still need to dig out another small one for the artichokes!

So this is why I have been MIA for awhile on this blog. I have been dead tired after working ALL day in the garden. We have a lot of fun things planted and I will post pics as they grow. We have; beans, peas, eggplant, carrots, hot peppers, 3 kinds of lettuce, purple cabbage, honeydew melon, squash, cantaloupe, tomatoes, red peppers and pumpkins with artichokes to come! Of course I will have to dig out the tomatoes, peppers, melons and artichokes as they start to grow and move them somewhere else but we have a great assortment out here! I actually have 3 topsy turvys that the red peppers and tomatoes to go in. I am excited to get it all going!
Thanks for coming by and reading today!
Please let me know what you got for Mother’s Day!

End of Round 1 of P90X Pictures and Measuremtns! My P90X review!

OK so I had to go with the 5 year old daughter taking my picture since I could not for the life of me find the camera last night for my hubby to take so I apologize if they are a bit blurry! She does do a pretty good job though!

Weight loss: 11 pounds. I lost all of this 11 pounds within week 9-11 (I will have to double check my blog posts, if I am remembering right it was around week 9-11.
Measurements
DAY ONE                               DAY 90                  L or G

Bust: 41 inches                          40                           L-1 inch
Under bust: 36 inches                35 1/4                     L-3/4 inch
Waist: 41 inches                        39 1/2                     L-1 1/2 inch
C-section scar: 42 inches           41                           L-1 inch
Hips: 44 3/4 inches                    43 1/2                     L-1 1/4 inch
Thighs (1): 24 3/4 inches            24                           L-3/4 inch
Arm: 12 inches                          12                           0

Total inches lost = 6 1/4 inches

Overall experience with P90X
It was hard and I could barely do half of the workouts full out when I first started. I always did the entire workout (well except Yoga for a couple of weeks, it is 90 freaking minutes)! Now I can do the entire workout full out. Am I as vigorous as Tony Horton and the others on the DVD? No way, but I am 100% better then I was on day one. Would my measurements and weight loss be greater keeping up with them 100% of the time? Yes absolutely.

Now for round 2, my hypothesis is that my weight loss will be close to the same as the first time. Why am I not saying more? Well because I only have another 15-20 pounds to lose and I am gaining a lot of muscle in this program. Oh and most importantly I have gained STAMINA!

I do like the workouts as they make me feel good that I am working out so hard. I do have to say that the Yoga is still not my favorite and I am pulling out a Windsor pilates or a shorter Yoga routine on Yoga days for the lean program because I simply do dislike the 90 minutes of Tony’s Yoga. I don’t think this will matter because I am still doing it!

If you have wondered about trying this program I would definitely give it a huge thumbs up and a 8.5/10. I am not giving it a 10 for two reasons, the Yoga is not my favorite and Tony Horton just does not shut-up ever! That is OK though, he gets the job done. I guess if I am giving it another go and doing the LEAN P90X this time I must like it enough..right?

My stomach after my c-section is being so stubborn so I am hoping the LEAN program of P90X will take more off the stomach. As I said in my earlier post too that I am adding in Chalene’s Turbo Jam, Ab Jam into my day too to combat this!

Keep coming back for round two’s updates!

Have a great day everyone!

Another round of the X…LEAN style this time!

OK pics coming tomorrow of me after my first round of P90X. I tried to have my daughter take them and they did not work out so well so will have my hubby do it tonight!

Today is day 1 for P90X LEAN program. I wanted to change up the workout but thought I would do the lean option of P90X first. I am going to do Turbo Fire next but really want to try and drop another 10 pounds in the next four weeks (mostly in my stomach) so I figured P90X lean would get me there the fastest!
Swimsuit season is upon us and it has been years since I have wore a swimsuit that was not covered with a tank top and shorts so my goal is to wear one without an entire outfit on top of it in a month. We will see!

I am also doing Chalene’s Turbo Jam routine “Ab Jam” every day. It is 20 minutes long and to be truly honest, I really like it better then P90X Ab Ripper. I don’t know why but I feel it more after I do her ab jam than P90X Ab jam but….I feel it all over more for the regular P90X workouts.

Have a great day and come on over tomorrow for my pics!!

Who invented swear words?

Image from photobucket

So this is my question today….who’s idea was it to invent swear words anyway?

I have been thinking about this for awhile and I just have to post it and get it out there. God did not invent swear words as they are not printed in the 10 commandments or in the bible. I know it says not to take the Lord’s name in vain, so I get that one.

This is my argument. Who was thinking they were so high and mighty that they got to decide what people were allowed and not allowed to say? Isn’t any word, said in a vain context a swear word?
So I can talk about Jesus, God, and Hell in everyday conversation and it is OK but once I add that “tone,” you know the one, then it is considered a bad word.  OK I get that, I am pissed off and I say something loud and mad so it is not meant to be respectful. Well…isn’t it the same for darn, dang and freaking? I can say those words every day in any conversation but once I say them in that same “tone” should it not be considered a swear word too?

I think that we should teach our kids how to react to different situations and not worry so stinking much about what word they are using because any word used in a pissed off situation is a BAD word! I say “swear words,” I do, I am not going to deny it. When I say them I do not feel guilty because really…any word I blurt out is going to be taken in a negative way anyway.

Now I am just trying to teach myself to not freak out and blurt out any word in that state, not just the swear words. If I am mad and I blurt out any word in vain I really do not believe I am gong to Hell because I said a “swear word!” Just my opinion!

Thanks for FREAKING listening today!

Hard work does not last forever!

Photobucket
Image from http://www.customglittergraphics.com/

I saw this quote a long time ago on twitter but kept forgetting to post it so now I can’t remember who on twitter i got it from. Here is the quote:

Hard work pays off in the future while laziness pays off now!

Isn’t this so true? It is really tough to remember this some days.
Saving for our future, our kids future, or whatever you are saving for definitely fits into this quote. It is frustrating to live without this extra money now but in the future it will pay off when we have that extra money for retirement. This is just one example as there are many.

I never thought I would ever graduate College but it did end one day and now I NEVER have to go back if I don’t want to! Well I guess you never HAVE to go to College, but you get the idea.

Shoot me some examples of this quote today! I would love to have some communication from my readers today. You are a big reason why I am here anyway!

Peace, love and positivity!

Had to give my son an enema…HORRIBLE!!

My son had not “pooped”in almost 3 weeks (well one worth while anyway) and it was getting bad. I took him to the doctor a couple of times and they finally said “give him an enema.” I was not looking forward to this but I had to do it, plus the poor little guy could not even sit in his highchair anymore so something had to be done. I tried extra fruit, juice, and even prunes and nothing would help.  We were worried that there was a blockage but thankfully there wasn’t, he just needed some help.
So I awaited my husband to come home because after I bought the enema there was not way I was going to give and 18 month old an enema by myself.

Let me tell you how horrible it was. I felt so bad. I laid him on his stomach over my legs in the bath while my husband inserted the enema. He screamed, and I don’t blame him. Then we had to literally hold it in for him, which was not fun. We then sat him on the little potty first and he would NOT let it go. He is used to a diaper so then we just sat him in the bath. It took awhile but he finally did and screamed the entire time. Oh it broke my heart!

The poor little guy finally did poop and he was happier in the long run and has pooped the last 3 days, “good!” He is sleeping through the night now (he was not when he was not pooping). I know we needed to do it, but it was so hard. But now we have a happy baby again!

Have a great day!

He was making excuses again but I wouldn’t let him!

Photobucket
Found this image on photobucket and love this saying so had to post it here!

Why is it so easy to step off the bandwagon once we get going? It has been a little frustrating because the hubby seems to be finding a lot of excuses to delay his workouts, but then he says, “I really need to work out!”

So the other night, life go in the way and it was…again…11pm at night and we had not done our workout yet.
I was NOT, NOT working out. Of course he says, “let’s just watch something” and I said, “YOU can watch something and I will workout while you watch something!” I had written down all the P90X Kenpo workout and I started doing it while he turned on CSI. Well…he ended up doing it with me at 11pm at night to CSI. After the workout he says “I am glad I did that, I feel good!” Duh…I knew that would happen.

Anyway, I have written down most of the workouts (the ones that are not already on the worksheets) for P90X. It does get boring to do the DVD over and over, so that is why I have them all on paper now. It makes it more bearable to not have to watch the same thing over and over and workout to something different. Plus, the workout went by 2 times faster too because we were also keeping our minds busy and we still sweat!

Now all I have to do is get Core Synergisitcs and Cardio X written down and we will be good! We will put in the P90X DVDs again, we just need a break!

Question:
Have any of my readers tried the Shakeology? I am thinking about it. I am not a huge fan of these types of drinks usually but am thinking they would add some great nutrients to my diet. Please let me know if you like it!

Peace everyone!
