Who invented swear words?

Image from photobucket

So this is my question today….who’s idea was it to invent swear words anyway?

I have been thinking about this for awhile and I just have to post it and get it out there. God did not invent swear words as they are not printed in the 10 commandments or in the bible. I know it says not to take the Lord’s name in vain, so I get that one.

This is my argument. Who was thinking they were so high and mighty that they got to decide what people were allowed and not allowed to say? Isn’t any word, said in a vain context a swear word?
So I can talk about Jesus, God, and Hell in everyday conversation and it is OK but once I add that “tone,” you know the one, then it is considered a bad word.  OK I get that, I am pissed off and I say something loud and mad so it is not meant to be respectful. Well…isn’t it the same for darn, dang and freaking? I can say those words every day in any conversation but once I say them in that same “tone” should it not be considered a swear word too?

I think that we should teach our kids how to react to different situations and not worry so stinking much about what word they are using because any word used in a pissed off situation is a BAD word! I say “swear words,” I do, I am not going to deny it. When I say them I do not feel guilty because really…any word I blurt out is going to be taken in a negative way anyway.

Now I am just trying to teach myself to not freak out and blurt out any word in that state, not just the swear words. If I am mad and I blurt out any word in vain I really do not believe I am gong to Hell because I said a “swear word!” Just my opinion!

Thanks for FREAKING listening today!

Hard work does not last forever!

Photobucket
Image from http://www.customglittergraphics.com/

I saw this quote a long time ago on twitter but kept forgetting to post it so now I can’t remember who on twitter i got it from. Here is the quote:

Hard work pays off in the future while laziness pays off now!

Isn’t this so true? It is really tough to remember this some days.
Saving for our future, our kids future, or whatever you are saving for definitely fits into this quote. It is frustrating to live without this extra money now but in the future it will pay off when we have that extra money for retirement. This is just one example as there are many.

I never thought I would ever graduate College but it did end one day and now I NEVER have to go back if I don’t want to! Well I guess you never HAVE to go to College, but you get the idea.

Shoot me some examples of this quote today! I would love to have some communication from my readers today. You are a big reason why I am here anyway!

Peace, love and positivity!

Had to give my son an enema…HORRIBLE!!

My son had not “pooped”in almost 3 weeks (well one worth while anyway) and it was getting bad. I took him to the doctor a couple of times and they finally said “give him an enema.” I was not looking forward to this but I had to do it, plus the poor little guy could not even sit in his highchair anymore so something had to be done. I tried extra fruit, juice, and even prunes and nothing would help.  We were worried that there was a blockage but thankfully there wasn’t, he just needed some help.
So I awaited my husband to come home because after I bought the enema there was not way I was going to give and 18 month old an enema by myself.

Let me tell you how horrible it was. I felt so bad. I laid him on his stomach over my legs in the bath while my husband inserted the enema. He screamed, and I don’t blame him. Then we had to literally hold it in for him, which was not fun. We then sat him on the little potty first and he would NOT let it go. He is used to a diaper so then we just sat him in the bath. It took awhile but he finally did and screamed the entire time. Oh it broke my heart!

The poor little guy finally did poop and he was happier in the long run and has pooped the last 3 days, “good!” He is sleeping through the night now (he was not when he was not pooping). I know we needed to do it, but it was so hard. But now we have a happy baby again!

Have a great day!

He was making excuses again but I wouldn’t let him!

Photobucket
Found this image on photobucket and love this saying so had to post it here!

Why is it so easy to step off the bandwagon once we get going? It has been a little frustrating because the hubby seems to be finding a lot of excuses to delay his workouts, but then he says, “I really need to work out!”

So the other night, life go in the way and it was…again…11pm at night and we had not done our workout yet.
I was NOT, NOT working out. Of course he says, “let’s just watch something” and I said, “YOU can watch something and I will workout while you watch something!” I had written down all the P90X Kenpo workout and I started doing it while he turned on CSI. Well…he ended up doing it with me at 11pm at night to CSI. After the workout he says “I am glad I did that, I feel good!” Duh…I knew that would happen.

Anyway, I have written down most of the workouts (the ones that are not already on the worksheets) for P90X. It does get boring to do the DVD over and over, so that is why I have them all on paper now. It makes it more bearable to not have to watch the same thing over and over and workout to something different. Plus, the workout went by 2 times faster too because we were also keeping our minds busy and we still sweat!

Now all I have to do is get Core Synergisitcs and Cardio X written down and we will be good! We will put in the P90X DVDs again, we just need a break!

Question:
Have any of my readers tried the Shakeology? I am thinking about it. I am not a huge fan of these types of drinks usually but am thinking they would add some great nutrients to my diet. Please let me know if you like it!

Peace everyone!

Freschetta Simply Inspired REVIEW and GIVEAWAY!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FRESCHETTA® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

MY REVIEW:
FRESCHETTA sent me a coupon to purchase a pizza for this review. You would think this would be an easy task, but it was difficult to choose just one pizza to buy as there are eight distinctive flavor varieties of FRESCHETTA® Simply Inspired pizzas to choose from. They have a Harvest Supreme, Classic Bruschetta, Hawaiian Style, Chicken Bianco, Farmers Market Veggie, Rustic Pepperoni Pomodoro, Southern BBQ Recipe Chicken, and Tuscan Farmhouse. I had to go with the Farmers Market Veggie.
FRESCHETTA® Simply Inspired Farmers Market Veggie
The ingredients are; marinated and roasted portabella mushrooms, roasted red onion and zucchini, rough-cut tomatoes that come together with mozzarella and a red sauce with basil for a flavor fresh from the market.
The FRESH-TASTE SEAL packaging locks in the vibrant flavors, while using 30% less packaging material. I do have to say that it was nice not to have such a huge box in my recycle bin on garbage day. I really dislike big pizza boxes as I think they are a huge waste.

I am not a huge pizza fan so I was skeptical but was excited they had a thin crust option so it was not so heavy and greasy. The vegetables were so god and the seasonings they put on them were very tasty too. I also loved that there was just enough cheese on it and not so much that’s all the pizza tasted like greasy cheese. I dislike pizzas that are over-loaded with a greasy cheese taste and this had so many great flavors on it, it was very satisfying.

This is what it looks like when it is cooked.

Now you are probably wondering, why would Tawna, promote a pizza, seeing that she is on a weight loss journey. Well the simple fact is that we cannot cut everything out of our diet 100% of the time and the fact of the matter is that we need to treat ourselves every now and then to some foods that we may not want to eat every day.  The calories, when compared to some other well know pizza companies (not going to put the companies names here, but I did do some research on some well-known pizza companies for comparison) and FRESCHETTA Simply Inspired Farmers market Veggie has less calories plus the vegetables are also healthier then some other frozen pizzas. Therefore, when I decide to have a “cheat day” then this pizza does not make me feel too bad.

Can I just say DUHHHH?

Photobucket

Feel free to call me blond, I can handle it (I do have some highlights).

I have one more week of P90X. I kept saying in my head 12 weeks! NO 13 weeks! I have a recovery week this week. I know, I know, I can literally be absent minded sometimes and this is one of those times!
I kept saying that April 30th was P90X graduation day for me but I have to wait til the following Saturday which is May 7th! I guess I should have looked at my Beachbody calendar, where I have all my workouts stored instead of my hand written calendar because I forgot to write down week 13!

Have a good day everyone! I will post my pics and measurements after May 7 now!

Peace!

Why I FEAR grasshoopprs, BIG TIME!

This is a bug post for the blog 5minutesfor mom to enter to win a gift card. This story always gives me goose bumps to tell to others!
Photobucket
Image from photobucket

I have a fear or grasshoppers because of this incident when I was about 7 or 8 years old (I am 39 now, so it was a long time ago).

I was playing outside in the springtime and had a long sleeve sweater on. I cam in fro lunch and took the sweater off and threw it by the back door. After lunch, I put the sweater back on and there was something jumping up and down in my sleeve and I was FREAKING out! I was jumping up and down and screaming and it was everything my Mom could do to get that sweater off me. I was crying and she got it off and out jumped a GRASS HOPPER! It scared me to death. I would not go outside after that for the rest of the day. Just relating the story now gives me chills. I really do not like grasshoppers to this day at all!

Even the picture I found on photobuket gives me the heebie jeebies to look at. I HATE them!

What is your freaky bug story!

Insurance update

Image from photobucket

OK so remember when I posted that the insurance company denied my surgery which was about $52,000 and they were actually trying to get my doctors office to send them a refund? Well….I got a call today. It went to voicemail as I do not answer any 800, 877 or 866 numbers due to all the telemarketers that can call your stinking cell phones now (yes I am on the do not call list but they still call).
Anyway, the voicemail said “this message is for Tawna, this is your insurance company calling about the incident you called about last week, we want you to know that your owing balance is ZERO!” This is me (picture a jaw drop to the ground and the dumb look on my face. I thought I had to pay 20%? I am not going to argue. I guess I reached my out of pocket, I don’t really care but they paid!!! Whihoo! So glad it worked out!!

Have a great day everyone!
