Just LISTEN don’t tell me how bad you have it?!!!
OK so this is my vent today. I am going to get it out and then I am going to move on and get the negative out of my head!
I listen to you all the time damn it, I let you vent, tell me about your day,, whatever, I let you talk and I LISTEN! So when I need to vent please don’t turn the conversation back on to you (and in about 2 minutes).
This is my advice from one friend to another.
When someone calls you and needs to vent, don’t say “oh that’s like the time” or “this always happens to me” or whatever else we sometimes say to make it about us. That is find every now and then but you know what I want to hear. NOTHING for a few minutes and then say “I am so sorry, I have nothing to say except I don’t blame you for being upset because that just plain sucks, should we go get a drink?” Perfect!
Whew! Off my chest.
I know I have been guilty of this in the past. It was a couple of years ago that I found myself doing this A LOT. I made a commitment to myself to try and quit and I have to say I am probably a 60/40 now and use to be about a 20/80 so I am better, but still a work in progress.
I think that the reason why “I” did this and maybe others fall into this is that we just don’t have the right thing to say or we don’t know what to say so we think that if we tell everyone what we have done that it makes it better. Sometimes it does help to know others go through things but if you want to say “I have been there” can you leave it at that and not steer the entire 30 minute conversation over to YOU!
OK, now onto the positive. I have let it out, now I am moving on. Taking care of my things today in the lovely snowy cold weather, but I really need the new tires put on my car. We have had a ton of rain and snow this winter, but on the positive side we should have a ton of water this spring and summer so my garden should grow beautifully!
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Positive affirmations today
I was doing some searching on line and found some great affirmations for abundance.
1. I prosper wherever I turn and I know that I deserve prosperity of all kinds
2. The more grateful I am, the more reasons I find to be grateful
3. I pay my bills with love as I know abundance flows freely through me.
http://www.vitalaffirmations.com/affirmations.htm#example affirmations
Number 3 is the hardest for me. It is a hard concept to feel positive when paying bills isn’t it? But…we can do it!

Well….doubling up today, not so much!
I posted earlier today that I would be doubling up on my exercises because I did not feel good yesterday. I did the first P90X workout Legs and back and immediately popped in Kenpo and things did not happen the way I anticipated. That is life right?
I actually felt really great and could have done the Kenpo but ended up having to leave my house, really quickly, with the kids and did not get back until 9:00pm. Do I want to work out at 9pm?
Well I do all the time with my hubby but he is not here tonight so, NO, I don’t want to work out at 9pm.
Tomorrow is suppose to be my rest day so now I am rethinking my week and taking yesterday and rest and doing Kenpo X tomorrow and starting my new week on Friday and will be on track again.
No need to stress, life happens and we are all good. If I don’t have this attitude all I do is stress and give up because “it’s just too hard!” But its not too hard, it’s just life AND life happens!
Happy exercising everyone!

Missed my workout yesterday so doubling up today!
I am not going to make a habit of this but I was so tired yesterday and something was up with my stomach that I just could not workout. I tried for a few minutes but the cramping was so bad that working out made it worse.
So this is my plan for today!
Yesterday was suppose to be Legs & Back and then AB Ripper and today is Kenpo X. I am going to do the legs and back here in a few minutes when my son goes down for his nap. Later tonight I am going to do the Kenpo when I put the kids to bed at 8pm. kenpo is my favorite of all of them so far so I am keeping this for later when I may not feel up to it as much.
I don’t suggest doubling up on these very much but I feel much better today after my great night of sleep so today I am going to tackle my two workouts!
It is way to easy to get into excuse habits and I am afraid that if I do not push myself today then it will be easier to slack again later!
Have a good day lovely readers and Happy exercising!

Desperate times call for desperate measures!
So you all know how my coffee maker broke this weekend along with the tire on my zipper on my favorite jacket.
I found a way to make coffee with my broken peculator (it’s slow but works)! Good thing I don’t have to be at a job in the AM or I wold not be able to make it this way.
Picture first, then I will describe:
I still put the filter in the top and add the coffee. I then put my water in the microwave and heat it to boiling. I then add the water until the top portion is full and then walk away and let it drip through on it’s own. I have to continue to do this over a 20-30 minute time frame and I have to keep heating the water as I do this. I found that if I let the water get too cool it will not drip through the strainer very well. When I get to the last little bit of water it does slow down but I have enough coffee for my two cups so it’s all good!
I know it may seem silly for some, but I can’t afford a coffee maker right now and since I am a stay-at-home Mom it’s not like I don’t have the time to wait for it.
The coffee tastes great and is free from grounds so we are good til I can purchase a new one!
Have a wonderful caffeinated day everyone!

Positive thought for Wednesday March 9th
Today is one of my very best friends 40th birthday so I wanted to find an age related positive thought! Just remember Laura that you will always be OLDER THAN ME! It may only be by 3 months but your are still older! Love you!
I found quite a few quotes I wanted to share!
“Live as long as you may, the first twenty years are the longest half of your life.” ~Robert Southey, The Doctor
“How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?” ~Satchel Paige
“There is always a lot to be thankful for, if you take the time to look. For example, I’m sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt.” ~Author Unknown
“You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.” ~Douglas MacArthur
Have a wonderfully positively positive day!

5 weeks and 3 days til I am a P90X Graduate!
It has been a hard road but in reality it has gone quite quickly. I can’t believe that I am more than half way through my P90X course! I am feeling stronger every day and my stamina is up big time.
I can’t wait to graduate and I am seriously going to make myself a P90X diploma and hang it up, I am so not kidding!
What work out should I do next? I do want to do another P90X course. I am doing the basic course now and there are 2 more courses that are higher intensity but I think I will want to change it up a bit and try something new.
So readers, which should it be…Insanity or Turbo Fire?

Homemade rolls! Made the house smell awesome!
I have to give the recipe credit to my awesome Grandma C in Canada. She makes the most awesome homemade bread so who else would I turn to for a great roll recipe?
It was very easy and they were a hit at my friends party. Rolls are so expensive for what they are made of and I made 30 rolls for under $3 because I had almost all the ingredients already. I could have made the entrie 60 the recipe makes for the same price!
It was very easy and they were a hit at my friends party. Rolls are so expensive for what they are made of and I made 30 rolls for under $3 because I had almost all the ingredients already. I could have made the entrie 60 the recipe makes for the same price!
For 60 (I halved this)
6 c of HOT water
¾ c white sugar
2 scant teaspoons salt
½ c salad oil
About 12 c flour (maybe less maybe more) For half of the recipe I ussed 7.
4 eggs
3 TBSP yeast. Note: if fast yeast just add dry to the flour. If slow yeast it has to be dissolved in good warm water with a bit of sugar until it swells and rises. Fast yeast is tiny granules, while slow yeast are tiny round balls. Anyway read on your package)
If slow- 1 c of the water (good warm water, not too hot as it will kill the yeast but if it is too cool it will not rise). Add the 2 TBSP of the 3/4 C sugar and the 3 TBSP of SLOW yeast. Put this directly into the pan you will knead the bread in and then lets it rise. It will bubble and rise to the top of the water.
In a mixing bowl beat the eggs, the oil and the sugar and salt until it is creamy and then begin to stir in the flour. When it is too stiff for the mixer, put it in the yeast mixture and stir. Then add the flour a cup or two at a time and stir and then knead the dough. For good buns don’t make the dough too stiff, it should be a bit sticky. Knead it really good (about 100) good turns. Cover it and let it double in size; knead it down and then when it rises a second time makes little balls, roll them and place them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper. We don’t use PAM (non-stick spray) or oil. The parchment paper is wonderful to remove baking. Let them rise (double in size) and bake the buns at 350 degrees for no more than 20 minutes.
I add a small amount of butter on the top immediately after taking them out of the oven.
They were tasty!
My next venture is to find an awesome whole grain recipe. Anyone have one? I know I can make this same recipe with wheat flower but I don’t want wheat, I want a whole grain that won’t be dry.
Happy baking!

I think I may try this book to see if it has a good whole grain recpie in it. The whole grain bread we buy is now $3 a loaf. Ridiculous!

P90X week 7 begins!
Well it actually began on Friday. My husband and I are still going strong on our P90X venture. Like I said before, he lost 5 pounds in the first week! I do not weigh myself very often but I have lost a few inches in just the first few weeks. I will not measure until after this week because it is rest week again (well I don’t think rest is the right word because it still hurts a little). Some nights it is hard to keep going but we still work out even if it is 10:00pm at night. We just have to do it and keep doing it because we all know how easy it is to talk yourself out of working out.
Last week during all the arms curls and triceps and pull up exercises it hurt to put deodorant on. This week we are heading into day 4 (today) and it does not hurt that much anymore. I am also able to go lower into my pushups and am starting to see a little bend in my arms when trying to do a pull up. I still cannot do one without a chair but when I try I can actually pull myself up about 2 inches (bending the arms) before I could not even get a bend in the arms I just hung and cried!
So I am getting stronger. Oh and I put on some dress pants, I have no wore in about 4 weeks, and they actually would not stay up on their own. I have never needed a belt before, but now I do. I also noticed that the legs were too big and they looked too baggy. So freaking cool!
Happy working out everyone and Happy Healthy day!
