This is the perfect time of year to help those in need or just simply make someone smile. The statistical rate of suicide and depression sky rocket this time of year, so why not do nice things for people this time of year. Well anytime of year, but I think it means more during the Holiday season. So I did!
I met a good friend of mine for breakfast and outlet mall shopping last weekend and decided it was a great day to make someones day and pay-it-forward.
We were at a local restaurant out by the malls and a cute little old man came in and sat at the bar, by himself, and ordered breakfast. I thought that he was perfect to get some Holiday Cheer so I flagged down my server and asked her to put his meal on my bill, but not to tell him.
My friend was with me and she had a very confused look on her face and asked me what I was doing. I told her that I wanted to pay for the mans meal and explained to her my pay-it-forward journey and she thought that was pretty cool. I told her that she should try it as it had paid off with good karma, bit time for me!
I have no idea what the man’s reaction was or anything. Frankly that is not why I do it. We left before he was told his meal was paid for. It would have been nice to see it, but I don’t typically want anyone to know it’s me when they receive it. One thing I can be sure of is that the man felt happy and surprised…all good!
Anyway…I am off to do some more Holiday Cheer!
Happy Holidays!!!
