There are many things I have learned in my health journey and the mind is the biggest lesson of all.
We have so much more control then we realize and we can talk ourselves into feeling like crap, headaches, sickness, and tired.
Even though I know this, I found myself doing this…AGAIN today.
How many more times do I need to see the positive in order to get over it?! I even had a couple good nights of sleep but I just had to keep telling myself I was tired and my workout was going to be tough.
So I put in Chalene Johnson’s Turbo Fire. Love her workout and it makes me feel awesome! It was only a 30 minute workout and for the first 20 minutes of it I told myself how tired I was and it was hard. In fact it was much harder then I remembered it being.
After 20 minutes I did pause it and went to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and what I saw was a negative, unhappy person, and I did not like what was looking back at me at all!
I looked in that mirror and said “you know Tawna, get over it, you are NOT tired and not sick anymore. What are you feeling sorry for yourself for? This workout makes you feel good so get over yourself now and feel good.” And YES I really did say this.
I went back in and finished the last 10 minutes and talked myself into feeling good. Before I knew it that last 10 minutes was over and I did feel better. I even put the backpack on and walked my son and I to my daughter’s school and was happy. Geez! Like I said earlier. How many more kicks in the butt do I need to get over myself. Holy cow Tawna, you know better!
I guess we all need constant reminders eh?
Have a great day!
