My Diaper Confession!

I hope you will share!

I know I should do cloth diapers to help with the environment but to be perfectly honest, I just can’t get myself to do it!

I remember when I was little, my Mom handing my my sisters diaper and saying “please rinse this out in the toilet!” UGH this made me drive heave a few times and I swore I would never have kids because I did not want to rinse out any more diapers!
I use Huggies now.
When we had our first child we would change the diaper at the drop of a hat. “Oh she peed, can’t have that!” We went through way more diapers then we needed to for sure! Now that we have our second child, we wait to see how much we can fit in it before we change him. Sometimes it is too long and we have a bigger mess to clean up. It is funny how we are so worried about a little wet for the first child and then the second child gets to get a lot wetter!

I am sure I am not the only parent that does this and it would make me feel better if others would come forth and comment on here that they do it so I don’t feel like such a bad  Mom! I know I a bad Mom…really…I just seem to get a lot more relaxed and a bit more lazy with the second child!

I hope you all had a great Father’s Day weekend!

Peace!
Tawna

When I had babies cloth diapers were the only option as disposable were too expensive. I don't think I would have ever asked one of my children to wash the diaper out though. That would have grossed me out as a kid too.
I'm now following you via GFC from the weekend hop.

With the first child you do your absolute best. You read all the books. Bleach and sterilize everything. By the second you are no so diligent. By the third and fourth, the 5 second rule applies and you just rinse the kids off. You actually get the older kids involved in rallying the kids. Its alright. You are not alone.

Wow I did nto know amazon was that cheap on diapers. I usually go to sams and get them for about .24 cents a diaper for Huggies but if I can get them shippied for .25 cents I am so doing that!
    Thanks Dawn!

I know people who invest in those fancy new ones and buy liners. In my opinion disposeables are cheaper! You add extra laundry by cloth diapering, which requires extra laundry soap, and extra time to do said laundry. They create more messes and the initial investment for the pretty ones is ridiculous. I only use Huggies, I buy from Amazon where I get a discount and they get delivered to my door. I am paying less than $0.25 per diaper and I can toss it in the trash. WIN, WIN! My son is older now, so we are going through less diapers and I love that. I don't change him when he first wets either, I wait til it's full (unless he poo's). I know "green" people frown on this, but I hate the thought of having to line these fancy cloth diapers, then toss the NASTY liner when they poo, then wash the diapers it's just more work added to my busy Mom life…NO THANK YOU! Cloth diapering is NOT for me!

LOL… Tawna, you are too funny.

Don't beat yourself up about cloth diapers. When my daughter was young, she broke out in a super bad diaper rash. And…. yes I did change her frequently. She was a first child, so you know I changed her.

I took her to the doctor and he told me that it is very hard to get germs out of cloth diapers and that can cause babies to break out….. So there!!! Don't even think about using cloth.

HA! By the time my third came around she was lucky when I remembered to bathe her!
