Gotta love Kindergarten and LICE!

I hope you will share!

Immediately I called my hubby, who is conveniently in Florida, and then my friend Janet. I have never had to deal with this before so I wanted some guidance. Luckily Janet had the shampoo and stuff for me so she brought it over. I also had her check my hair as, of course, I let my daughter sleep in my bed last night!

Janet did not find any in my hair, thank goodness. I then preceded for the next TWO hours to go through my daughter’s hair. Her hair is long, thick, and blond so it took awhile and I went through it twice.

I found jsut over a dozen in her hair and no eggs.

Then i stripped all the beds, pulled out all the kids clothes. Bagged the stuffed animals and pillows. Vacuumed and sprayed everything. Cleaned my car, which has not been clean in forever. Cleaned and sprayed all 4 car seats. 14 hours later I still have a pile bags filled with laundry. I am BEAT!

I dislike lice!

Oh and get this. Because of Hippa laws, the school is no longer allowed to check kids for lice. Really? Doesn’t that seem bassackwards? They should not single out kids and only check one or two, they should check them all.

I called the school and sent a text to the parents I know. Oh my lord, I am going to bed! More laundry in the AM.

Oh and I did check my daughters hair 3 more times and only found ONE more bug! Hopefully it is gone!

Hope you have a happy Lice free day!

Oh goodness hun im sorry! Ive been lucky with my son. Hes 13 and has never had lice. 2 children had it when he was in 1st & 2nd grade but he was lucky & didnt get it. I recommend trying this, Fairy Tales Rosemary Repel Leave-In Conditioning Lice Prevention Spray. . Its like $8.00 online and PREVENTS lice. Its WELL worth the try dont you think? Remember this is NO reflection on you as a parent or your cleanliness . . it just happens and it happens in all classes of people. In other words money doesnt keep the lice away .lol Good luck hun.

My daughter brought lice home from camp one year…it was a terrible ordeal. Tide laundry detergent is a life saver

  4. Holy Cow Tawna!! That really sucks!

When my Daughter was small, I used to spray her hair with off when lice were going around. She hated it but she never got lice.

    Sorry this happened Tawna.

I hate hate hate lice! I’ve had it way too many times and even once my mom had to cut my and my sisters beautiful long thick hair because she couldnt go thru it anymore with the combs (carpal tunnel) it was awful I cried, I dread the day my son gets it because i will be going crazy cleaning everything. Luckily though i can just shave his head! lol but i also work about body lice, that can be in the seams of there clothes. They lay eggs in the seams that is… ugh now I’m all itchy!!!! I’m sorry you had a bad day. I hope tomorrow is better!
